In this area the Bannabikira sisters are called to work with women’s groups in clubs, teach in vocational schools, to reach out to children and people with disabilities such as the deaf and mute,
the lame and single mothers and also to provide employment to the local people especially those who are less privileged.

We offer education to the marginalized such as the deaf and mute. In order to help the children of the nation with disabilities, Bannabikira Sisters in 1996 started the school for the deaf and mute, St. Mark V11 School for the Deaf at Bwanda in Masaka Diocese. We began with 12 pupils but now the school population has swollen up to 600 pupils. Bannabikira hope to move the school of the deaf from Bwanda to Kyengera .

The vulnerable lame children & single women
The Bannabikira reach out to this group of marginalised people of God. In 1997 we embarked on the mission of availing a Self Sustainability Scheme (Entandikwa) in different areas of Uganda to give these people hope by helping them begin something from which they could earn a living. This is our vision for the centenary memorial centre under construction at Kyengera.
Unders this scheme,the Bannabikira and Lilian Foundation are helping 371 lame people.One has graduated from Makerere University with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Development while another is at Kyambogo University taking Bachelor of Arts in Counselling.
The Congregation under this theme aims at changing the mindset of the Parents and communities in which people with disabilities are found. For example, the sisters are trying to show that lame people are not a burden to society but rather, they are as useful as any physically fit people
